Our Beliefs

Our church is a community of believers with Jesus Christ as its head. The Austin Christian Church is committed to being a New Testament church, which follows the Bible as the word of God and seeks to bring glory to God through every member living life as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

Our vision is to reach our community and make a difference in the lives they live through the good new of Jesus Christ. We believe we can accomplish this through helping people discover God's purpose for their life through teamwork, creativity and excellence.

Church Staff

Evangelist & Women's Ministry Leader: David & Angela Hooper

Dave & Angela both hail from Columbia, SC. They met in High School but went separate ways for awhile, Angela attended the University of South Carolina while Dave graduated from California State University, Long Beach. In 1992, they both answered a call to go to Russia to serve on the mission field. It was there they dated and were married. They have 3 lovely daughters, Stasya, Savannah, and Callia. After spending 4 years in the former Soviet Union planting churches, Dave & Angela moved to Austin in 1996. They have faithfully served this congregation from that time to the present with the exception of a brief 2 year stint in Los Angeles from 2002-03.

Campus Interns: Arlee & Maggie Butterfield

Arlee & Maggie both hail from Kansas. Arlee graduated from the University of Kansas while Maggie graduated from Kansas State University. They met at a campus retreat and a few short years later were married in the summer of 2005. Shortly after being married Arlee accepted a full-time youth/campus ministry position in Omaha, NE. Maggie served along side Arlee but she also taught full-time as a 1st grade and kindergarten teacher in the Omaha School District. During their time in Omaha they were blessed with their beautiful daughter Madelynne. Arlee and Maggie moved to Austin in the summer of 2009 to serve as campus interns for the church.
