Upcoming Philippians Series - The Pursuit of Happyness!

The “pursuit of happiness” is a concept near and dear to the hearts of all Americans. Listed as a basic human right in the Declaration of Independence, we are certainly all grateful for the freedom we share to take up such a pursuit. However, capturing true happiness can be a difficult pursuit indeed. Life issues, relationship problems, economic hardships and other challenges work to steal away our happiness. However, Paul’s challenge in Philippians 4:4 to “Be joyful always” is spoken in such a way as to presume that it is possible to possess happiness - not simply pursue it.

The Pursuit of happynessBeginning with our worship service in the park next Sunday, we are going to spend the next 5 weeks studying the book of Philippians. The book of Philippians is full of the theme of “true joy.” Amazingly, the apostle Paul wrote the book from prison, teaching us instantly that true happiness is not circumstantial! We will be looking at insights from this Biblical book on how to be in constant possession of true happiness in our own lives as the apostle Paul was in his.
