Plans Announced to Help Disciples and Community in Haiti

HOPE worldwide Disaster Relief Fund - HaitiLives lost. Homes destroyed. No food, water or jobs. The devastation in Port-au-Prince, Haiti is overwhelming. HOPE worldwide was on the scene within days of the earthquake. Their second team is there now. On Thursday night, January 28, Disciples Today and the International Churches of Christ hosted the first ever live, onlinle webcast for HOPE worldwide to share with you directly the needs and the plans to help the church and the community in Haiti. ICOC Hot News created an incredible video from the first relief trip to Haiti. The video and the webcast are now continuously showing on www.dtoday.tv Watch, donate and share with your family, friends and coworkers. Over 1,500 people from 68 countries have already viewed it. Facts from the webcast:

50 disciples are still missing from the Port-au-Prince Church of Christ.
60 disciples and 50 from the community are being cared for on the church property. The church building is destroyed as are most all homes. HOPE worldwide has formed a Haitian Relief Committee to plan and meet the needs.

The plan:

  • Short term, mid term and long term plans are being made.
  • Meet the immediate needs of food, shelter and health care for all of the disciples who have lost everything and the 50 others relying on them.
  • Train the disciples for new jobs. Hire disicples to carry out HOPE worldwide relief efforts.
  • Over $300,000 has been donated and pledged to HOPE worldwide Haitie Disaster Relief.
  • Another $700,000 is needed from you, your friends and other partners.
  • $100 will support one person for one month.
